Vedanta BALCO backed DPS students bring laurels

Korba, Chhattisgarh, July 23

BALCO supported Delhi Public School (DPS) students Anadi Agrawal of Class XII from commerce stream topped the district with 97.6 per cent marks while Srijani Ray of class X ranked first in the district with 99 per cent marks.

Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer and a subsidiary of Vedanta Aluminium, is committed to improving the quality of education in Balconagar, Korba. The excellent results in the school sponsored by the aluminium major stand testimony to it.

In class XII results, Shraddha Singh from Science Stream secured 2nd position with 96.6 per cent marks. Total 11 students secured 90 per cent and above marks.  94 per cent students have secured first division and above. In class X results, Md Shams secured 2nd position with 98.4 per cent marks and Akshansh Namdeo secured 3rd position with 97.8 per cent. Total 38 students have secured 90 per cent and above marks.  Almost all the students secured first division or higher marks. Ten students secured 100 marks in English, Sanskrit, Mathematics Basic, Mathematics Standard & Social Science.

BALCO supported Delhi Public School BALCO, Korba (C.G.) was established in the year 2012 to provide quality education to the children living in and around Balco Township. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. Since its inception, the institution has been rendering its commendable services to the society in the form of nurturing global citizens.

Within a short span of time the school has distinguished itself in the field of education as well as in the various cultural and sports activities.

Kailash Pawar, Principal, DPS BALCO, said, “The exemplary result of our students is significant with the fact that they didn’t attend school for two years straight and hence, faced difficulties during this time. It was more difficult for class XII students as they gave the exam in a hybrid mode (both online and offline). Despite all the adversities and the bad times of the pandemic, our students sailed through and came with flying colours which is very satisfying.”

BALCO is further making quality education accessible through its flagship project ‘Connect’. The project is aimed at addressing community needs for education, through field instructors and its own employees i.e. project provides opportunity to its employees to teach the students.

In FY 22, 1447 students of five different government schools have been benefitted through regular and remedial classes for 9th – 12th class on SEMA subjects (Science, English, Maths & Accountancy) along with other activities like winter camps, remedial classes and test series to help them prepare for Board exams.
