On October 30, 2025 at an election meeting at Tarapur, Union Home minister Amit Shah had said “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a major assignment (bahut badi jimmewari) to Samrat Choudhary if you elect him with heavy majority”.

On April 14, at Atal Bhawan, BJP headquarters here, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha while moving a resolution to elect Choudhary as BJP legislature party said “In accordance with the orders of the commander, I propose the name of Samrat Choudhary as our legislature party leader”.

Choudhary, a deputy CM under Nitish Kumar was a minister in Rabri Devi led RJD Ministry, later  joined JDU with defecting 13 RJD legislators. He was a member of Manjhi Ministry too. From JDU, he switched over to BJP  and became its State President.

Meanwhile, Governor Lt Gen (retired) Atta Hasnain invited Choudhary to take oath as CM tomorrow at 10.50  am ending the record nearly 25 years term of Nitish Kumar.
