JSPL’s blast furnace creates a new record of production

Naveen Jindal-led India’s leading Infrastructure conglomerate in the steel, mining and power sector, Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) had created a new record of production.

The Blast Furnace of Raigarh plant of JSPL has created a new chapter with the highest ever production in a day. JSPL Raigarh’s Blast Furnace-2 succeeded in producing 4635 tons on 14 December 2020.

This is the highest single-day production since the establishment of the blast furnace in October 2006. The blast furnace produced 3.17 tonne per day per cubic meter, which is the highest production level achieved by any blast furnace of this size across the country.

JSPL Chhattisgarh’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) D K Saraogi congratulated the entire team for the feat on behalf of Naveen Jindal and the management of the company.

“The furnace has been consistently performing well since inception. This record is possible only by working hard with dedication. He inspired everyone to set a new horizon to achieve the best continuously,” Saraogi added.

 Blast furnace Chief Arvind Kumar Bhagat attributed this achievement to the continuous guidance of the higher management, stating that only on December 14, Blast Furnace 1 and 2 succeeded in jointly producing 7345 tons, a record. In the week between 8 to 15 October, Blast Furnace 2 recorded its highest production with 36008 tons and the combined highest production level of 57675 tonne.
