NIA conducts searches in Madhya Pradesh

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday searched 13 locations of the suspects in six states including Madhya Pradesh in connection with the case related to the activities of ISIS (ISIS Module Case).

According to NIA sources, suspicious documents and materials have been found in the search. The NIA teams struck at Bhopal and Raisen districts of Madhya Pradesh as part of the operation. Meanwhile, NIA has detained two suspects from the Gandhinagar area of ​​Bhopal. Apart from Bhopal, a suspect has also been detained from Raisen.

However, details from the other centres were awaited. The other states covered in the operation included Gujarat, Bihar, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.

Reports reaching Raisen said a chaos was created in the Silwani police station when the NIA team nabbed some of the suspects and brought them to the police station for questioning. The officials had reached the district in three vehicles and raided the places at 7 am. The officials however refused to reveal any information at their juncture.

Another team raided Zubair Mansoori’s house in Nurpura in Bhopal and detained him. Zubair teaches in a Madrasa in Bhopal. A youth was also detained from old Bhopal. The NIA has also recovered several sensitive materials from his possession during the raids.

In Bhopal, terrorists were arrested earlier also. In March this year, four terrorists were arrested in Bhopal, considered to be a stronghold of SIMI. They were living in a rented room a few meters away from Aishbag police station. The four terrorists were identified as members of active terrorist organization Jamaat ul Mujahideen Bangladesh.

Besides Raisen and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, the other cities where the NIA conducted raids included Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Araria in Bihar, Kolhapur, Nanded in Maharashtra and Deoband in Uttar Pradesh.
