For the first time after denial of  BJP ticket from Buxar, Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey questioned the wisdom behind denial of ticket” aakhir mera Kasur kya hai”.

The BJP high command dropped Choubey in the list released about a fortnight ago. The party has fielded Mithilesh Tiwari as its official candidate from Buxar.

Choubey, who came to his home state first time after denial of ticket said he would remain active in politics as he enjoyed confidence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He sat on a silent satyagrah at Mahila Charkha Samiti, once residence of Jayaprakash Narain. Thousands of BJP workers from different parts of Bihar welcomed him at JP international airport.

The 71-year-old veteran politician is currently serving Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and Environment, Forest and Climate Change and a member of the 17th Lok Sabha.

Choubey was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly for five consecutive terms. He was accredited to have built 11,000 toilets for minority and Below Poverty Line families under Swachh Bharat Mission. A slogan “Ghar-ghar Me ho Shouchalaya ka Nirman, Tabhi hoga Ladli Bitiya ka kanyadaan” given by him was a hit in Bihar and people from all castes and religions availed government provided subsidy to build toilets in their respective homes.
